About Pastor Steve Riggle
Steve is the founding and current senior pastor of Grace Community Church in Houston, Texas. Situated on two 80 acre campuses that mark the entrance to the city from the south and the north along I-45, Grace has grown from 12 people in 1983 to over 12,000 active members today, with more than 100 ministries. In October 2006, Grace moved into one of the largest worship centers in the country with a capacity of 10,000 people.
Steve also serves as the President of Grace International, an association of more than 1500 churches with thousands of credentialed ministers. He is the founder of "The Center for Leadership Development," which provides training for vocational and volunteer ministry individuals and organizations. Steve is the founder of Clear Lake Christian School and Discovery Kingdom Child Development Center.
Steve has trained thousands of ministry leaders overseas in a variety of conferences. During one ministry trip Steve and his wife Becky were taken hostage by four prisoners during an attempted prison break. Steve was seriously stabbed seven times and Becky was shot. They have appeared on numerous television and radio shows giving their story of God’s amazing deliverance.
Steve is a founding member of the Board of Directors of King’s Seminary with Dr. Jack Hayford, an executive member of Houston Area Pastors Council, and serves other ministries in the city in various capacities.
Steve has an earned Masters Degree from Oral Roberts University and an earned Doctorate from the King’s College and Seminary. He is the author of The Sharper Edge.
